Hands-on fun learning: Concepts come to life via fun games and real-world examples as students go beyond theory. Students get samples of everything they create. All our workshops are designed and led by top-rated ALCNY staff
Our teaching is done with kindness and rigor -
the ALCNY combination that is proven to work !
In the Planet Hero workshop, children explore our planet throughout the year through activities that blend environmental education, science, gardening, cooking, recycling, and building. Each week, they "travel" to discover the Earth, learn how it works, and come up with practical ideas to take care of it and improve the way we live.
Explore the magic of storytelling and crafts in our exciting after-school class, designed specifically for pre-schoolers to stimulate their imagination and creativity.
EARLY READERS & WRITERS CLUB (every Tuesday and Friday)
The Early Readers & Writers Club builds the foundations of reading and writing through fun stories, word games, and creative writing activities. Children expand their vocabulary, gain fluency in reading, and begin to structure and express their ideas in writing. Each session combines guided reading, phonics games, and the creation of short texts or imaginative stories to foster confidence, creativity, and a love of words.
Throughout the seasons, children are introduced to a variety of age-appropriate sports activities: floor gymnastics, motor skills circuits, balance games, dance, mini-fitness, ball games, and coordination exercises. Each cycle focuses on a specific theme (flexibility, strength, endurance, agility) to progressively and playfully develop physical abilities. The workshop also encourages cooperation, listening skills, and respect for rules through group games and adapted challenges.
In this unique program, we start each session by reading a delightful storybook together. We discuss the characters, plot, and themes to deepen the children's understanding and spark their imagination.
Next, we bring the story to life using LEGO bricks. Children will recreate scenes and characters from the book, using their creativity to build detailed LEGO models. But the fun doesn't stop there! Once the original story is constructed, the children are encouraged to invent and build the next episode, continuing the narrative with their own creative twists and turns.
This hands-on workshop fosters storytelling skills, collaborative play, and fine motor development while providing a fun and interactive way to explore literature and imagination through LEGO building.
These programs provide academic support to students, helping them develop language skills for communication, academic success, and cultural understanding in multilingual contexts.
Our English (ESL) and French (FLE) courses are based on an interactive and communicative approach. Each session combines active listening (dialogues, videos, songs), speaking (role-playing, presentations, language games), reading of adapted texts (stories, comics, cultural fact sheets), and guided or creative writing (dialogues, narratives, cards).
Students also take part in cultural projects and real-life simulations (dining at a restaurant, planning a trip, conducting an interview), encouraging practical language use.
The goal: to make steady progress through engaging, structured practice tailored to each level.
This club immerses students in all stages of audiovisual creation, from the original idea to the final production.
Participants learn how to write a script, design a storyboard, film, direct, and edit their own projects. They explore a variety of formats, including stop-motion films, short fiction films, documentary videos, and creative clips.
Guided by professionals and equipped with appropriate tools (camera, microphones, lighting, editing software), students work in teams to bring their ideas to life and discover the behind-the-scenes world of filmmaking and visual storytelling.
In the STEAM workshop, students explore science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics through hands-on, interdisciplinary projects.
They experiment with concepts in physics and chemistry, build simple machines and circuits, take on creative design challenges, and apply math to real-world situations.
Each session blends logic, creativity, and problem-solving, encouraging students to think critically, test their ideas, and develop innovative solutions — all while connecting scientific thinking with artistic expression.
In this workshop, children aged 6 to 9 learn to draw on a tablet using Procreate for illustration and Canva for layout.
They work on hands-on projects such as mini-comics, posters, cards, and character sheets, while exploring the fundamentals of digital drawing: lines, colors, layers, and composition.
Dynamic workshops where children stay active, develop motor skills, and learn teamwork through a variety of sports and games.
